ABOUT MS. JACKSON

Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, I'm excited to join the Chestnut TAG and Greater Springfield team! This year, we’re “Sailing  To Success” on the USS TAG in 6th Grade English Language Arts!

“Our journey will include deep academic discourse focused on our studies and making connections to the world around us. Together, we’ll tie in our learning with field trips, with peers in other grades as well as in other schools. I look forward to learning and growing alongside our PHENOMENAL TAG students this year! In addition to ushering students toward continual academic success,  I’m dedicated to being a mentor to youth in the community.  As a teacher entering my 5th year in the classroom, I encourage students to aspire to great things such as public service in the community and to “pay back” our community with their energy, enthusiasm and special gifts. Teaching students to reach their dreams, instilling confidence in themselves and their ability to do good and great things is my big goal for the year.  I truly believe in our students, encouraging them to think beyond themselves; to see themselves as valued contributors to their academic and personal goals.

In Ohio, I pushed myself to use my education beyond the classroom and looked to shift educational policy as the former President of the Northeast Ohio Young Black Democrats. In addition, I  have served as a political organizer and strategist for President Barack Obama (2012) and was Deputy Political Director for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (2018). In 2017, I received the ‘Emerging Leader Award’ from the Lakewood Women’s Club. In 2018, I was honored to be recognized as one of the 2018 Distinguished Young Women by the YWCA of Greater Cleveland and I look forward to contributing with the same passion and dedication here in the Greater Springfield community and to our students for years to come! ALL ABOARD!” ⚓️
